The Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada (MCAC) will host its 78th annual conference in Nashville, TN from October 2 to 5, 2019.
Themed “Orchestrating the Industry’s Future,” the event will be held at the Hilton Downtown Nashville.
The conference kicks off on October 2, beginning with the John Bradshaw Memorial Golf Tournament at the Hermitage Golf Course.
A “First Timers Reception” will be held that evening from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The opening night event, titled “Under the Nashville Stars,” will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Day two — or the opening day — begins with a breakfast and a presentation from keynote speaker Graham Sherman, co-owner of Calgary, AB-based Tool Shed Brewing Company. Presentations on October 2 include a construction economic forecast from BuildForce Canada’s Bob Collins and a contractor challenge panel discussion, moderated by Gerry Russ of AON. UA Canada will showcase augmented reality technology that afternoon.
An off-site dinner and dancing event will be held in the evening at the Florida George Line House from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
New this year, MCAC will host an Innovation and Technology Day on October 4. Attendees can take part in sessions and panels on new construction technologies and innovation challenges, as well as an Innovation Tradeshow. The Women in Mechanical Construction will host a networking reception from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. following a committee meeting.
The event will wrap up on October 5 with breakfast and a presentation by keynote speaker Mandy Rennehan, the “Blue-Collar CEO” and founder of Freshco. Following a short break, construction technology expert and former UFC coach Chad Pearson will lead a presentation titled, “Elite Performance During Chaos and Critical Stress.”
MCAC will then hold its AGM and board of directors meeting. The conference will conclude with a reception from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. www.conference.mcac.ca
